St Simon the Apostle House Athletics: Reminders and Additional Information Year 1-6

We are excited to have our St Simon's School House Athletics day taking place on Friday at Knox Athletics Tracks. The weather seems to be clear on the day which means our Athletics day will still go ahead. A reminder that Year 3-6 students will travel by bus to the track with parent helpers and staff at 8:50am. Year 1 and 2 students, staff and parent helpers will travel by bus to the athletics track at 9:30am.

Parent Helpers:

Parent helpers for the day have been contacted either by email or phone regarding the day’s arrangements and we appreciate your help on the day. Parent helpers for the day can go straight to their child’s classroom at 8:40am ready to depart on the bus. If you have not been contacted, then you will not be required to help on the day. Parent helpers will be called to the starting line at the beginning of the day’s event at the track.

Departure from the track:

Students will be returning to school by bus. If you wish to take your child at the end of the day’s events from Knox Athletics Tracks, you must send an email or note to your child’s classroom teacher before FRIDAY. NO PARENT WILL BE ALLOWED TO SIGN OUT THEIR CHILD FROM THE TRACK WITHOUT A NOTE GIVEN TO THEIR TEACHER BEFORE THE DAY OF THE EVENT. This is so we maintain the COVID Safe protocol and practises for the day’s events. Students departing from the track at the end of the day’s event will be usher towards the spectating parents gate for pick up. Please remain there to pick up your child.

Athletics Day COVID Safe Arrangements:

Parents are able to attend to watch their child on the day. However, to keep in line with our St Simon School and Knox Athletics Track COVID safe protocols, we require all spectating parents on the day to sign in on entry using the St Simon's QR code and to remain in the COVID SAFE areas marked.

Parents are to enter ONLY by the main gate into the Knox Athletics Track and use the main grandstand to view their child participating on the day. This gate is separate from the student, staff and parent helper entry gate.

On entry, please ensure you sanitise your hands and throughout the day. It is encouraged you carry a mask while at the venue and please socially distance yourself from others, remaining 1.5 meters away from other patrons.

Photos:

Parents spectating and parents helping on the day are allowed to take photos of only their own child. As this is a school event, we ask all parents to not post or share photos on any social media platform as this event is a school based activity.

Thank you for your cooperation and we are all looking forward to a fun filled exciting day. Please continue to refer to the Operoo form for details and information on the day.

St Simon's Soccer Jersey Competition

Our school is looking to design a new soccer jersey with our school colours. This jersey will be used for our inter-school sport competitions in the future and we want your ideas and creativity to help design a new jersey. Check out the flyer below for more details.

To enter the competition, all you have to do is use your creativity to design a new St. Simon the Apostle Soccer Jersey. In your design you must include our school colours of navy blue and gold (brown can be used if you wish too). If you can, also include our school logo somewhere on the jersey. You can design both the back and the front of the jersey including the shorts. You can hand draw it using a jersey outline or use a digital program to create your jersey.

Once you have finished designing your jersey you can submit your design to Mr Karl Camerino by either passing it onto your classroom teacher or by emailing kcamerino@ssrowville.catholic.edu.au

The winner of the best design will receive a soccer jumper and soccer balls will be awards for the most creative designs.

The competition ends on Thursday 1st April.  All students can participate including parents and friends of St Simon. We hope to see many entries!
