Celebrating International Women's Day
Q&A discussion panel for International Women's Week
International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. International Women's Day (IWD) has occurred for well over a century, with the first March 8 IWD gathering supported by over a million people. Prior to this the Socialist Party of America, United Kingdom's Suffragists and Suffragettes, and further groups campaigned for women's equality.
Northcote High School will be marking International Women’s Day with a week of events celebrating women, and how important gender parity is!

All week we will have purple ribbons for sale by donation to show your support. Funds from this and the bake sale will go to support the International Women’s Development Agency who are doing incredible work to advance and protect the rights of women and girls locally and abroad in places such as Myanmar and Cambodia (read more here: https://iwda.org.au).
