Library Lessons
This term we are using family as our focus for stories to share and activities to engage us in reading. We have looked at Anzac Day in Week 1 with a story called Anzac Biscuits by Phil Cummings. Students made poppies to add to a wreath for their class. These were displayed as part of the ANZAC display in the POP building last Friday.
This week we are looking at stories which name members of the family. The Years 3 to 6 students have listened to a book called Going Fishing by Robyn Osborne about the problems a family has when going fishing. The Foundation to Year 2 students have listened to a book called Family Hugs which uses rhyming to engage in a conversation about how our family helps us.
Students will be writing or making something to compare their family with one in a story.
