Prayer

Tomorrow is Ascension Thursday.  It is the day we celebrate Jesus' rising into Heaven after spending 40 days on earth after his Resurrection.   On his final meeting with his disciples, Jesus told them that he would always be with them - promising the gift of the Holy Spirit, which occurred 10 days after this day, on Pentecost.  We pray,

God our Father, make us joyful in the ascension of your Son Jesus Christ.

May we follow him into the new creation,

for his ascension is our glory and our hope.

We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ,

your Son who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,

one God, for ever and ever.  Amen

NAPLAN

Our Year 5, 7 and 9 students are to be commended for the manner in which they have approached NAPLAN assessments so far this week.  This year sees a new format of the assessments, with them being all completed online using their Personal Learning Devices (PLDs).

I thank Year Coordinators and the staff who have been trained to administer these tests online, as well as our ICT Support, for the way in which students have been prepared and supported in this process.

Year 12 Parent/Teacher/Student Interviews

Monday was a very beneficial evening with the holding of our online Year 12 Parent / Teacher / Student Interviews. It was an excellent opportunity to affirm, refocus and provide direction for our young men as they continue their hard work, heading towards the culmination of their senior studies. Thank you to all parents for this constant support as we work together in our young men’s journey.

Mother's Day Stall and Celebrations

We were pleased to learn that the College raised $3155 for the Sisters of Mercy Mission in Candela, Peru at our Mother's Day Stall last Friday.  During this time of COVID, life is extremely difficult for those living in developing nations such as Peru, with about half of its population living below the poverty line.  Our assistance supports these people with items such as medicines, education, clothing and food.

I attach below the thank you letter from Mrs Mary Rajca on behalf of the Sisters of Mercy Mission.

Mother's Day Celebrations - CANCELLED

Unfortunately, we must cancel our Mother's Day celebrations this Friday.  Due to the COVID restrictions around groups remaining in place this week, we are unable to hold a gathering of this size and nature. I thank the organisers of these events and celebrations for their energy and preparations which we unfortunately will not be able to enjoy. We truly hope all our mothers, grandmothers and other mother figures in our lives had a beautiful day last Sunday.

Enrolments For Years 5, 6, & 7 2023 close this Friday, 14 May

Please see the College website for the 2023 online application form.  Please feel free to contact the Registrar's Office should you have any queries.

Vale Mrs Helen Buckley

The College was saddened to learn of the passing last week of a long serving member of our Religious Education, History, Music and Languages staff in Mrs Helen Buckley, who passed away after a battle with cancer. We offer our thoughts, prayers and deepest condolences to Helen’s family.
