To flush or not to flush ...

Ec0-Village with Aleph & Gimmel

Science class took on a whole new dimension when students from Aleph and Gimmel attended separate workshops about the crucial role of our sewer system, participating in activities on what to flush and what not to flush down the toilet. These workshops relate to what the students have been learning about changes to the landscape and how solids and liquids have different observable properties.

They also participated in a second workshop where they had a great time catching and identifying tiny aquatic macro-invertebrates from water sourced in local waterways. Our students learnt the important role these tiny creatures play in our local wetland food webs.

Thanks to the Mildura City Council, Mallee Catchment Management Authority and Lower Murray Water for organising these fantastic workshops.
