Footy Colours Day

In the last week of term, the Student Representative Council (SRC) organised a Footy Colours Day where students and staff could dress up in their footy colours and raise money for the Fight Cancer Foundation. It was great to see so of our College community in their supporter wear from the many different codes. There were activities running on the oval with students and staff both competing. Students were able to win Rebel Sport vouchers for the longest kick and soccer dribble. There was also music playing, pies, sausage rolls and zooper doopers for students to indulge in and a roaming photo booth. Overall the day was a huge success and as a College community we were able to raise a lot of money which goes to the ongoing research towards cancer and also providing students with resources to continue with their education whilst they are going through treatment.

Student Voice Awards: Shortlisted

On the second last day of term, we were notified that our College has been shortlisted for the VicSRC Student Voice Awards for our SportsHub. The SportsHub is a student initiative that provides students with sporting equipment to borrow at lunchtimes from a shipping container on the oval. Student leaders run the SportsHub, with the initiative this year leading to a large increase in the number of students participating in physical activity during lunchtimes.

World Scout Day

Congratulations to Mr Dew on being scarfed up for World Scout Day on 1st August 2019.

The scarf allows honorary community representatives to be included in our fabulous Scouting community.

Those included at the presentation are Mitch, Cameron, Jonathan, Mitchell, Charlie, Steph.

The scarf includes symbols of things that are uniquely Victorian, being, Melbourne trams, 'Weedy' a sea-dragon which is Victoria's Scout mascot, bayside beach boxes, & other things of more general nature including kayak, ballerina, sailboats, hiking boots.

Scouting is an adventure for all young people from ages 5 - 26. The focus is on learning whilst having fun. Many Scouts grow up to become leaders of industry and the community due to the skills they obtain in scouts.

The reason that Mitch and I chose Mr Dew to be scarfed up is because he is always out in the community at functions representing the school to the wider community. To be presented with a ambassador scarf recognises your contribution to our school community.

If you want to find out more about this awesome organisation, see any of those in the photo. You, or any of your siblings, may wish to come along for a free trial at your local Scout venue.
