Ministry Message
In the book to Hebrews, Chapter 4 verse 12, we read: For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Growing up, I was blessed to have parents who encouraged me to read the Bible early in my life. I did not always understand it, and not every part of it felt applicable and engaging, but at times it felt like these are acutely “living and active words of God'. In other words, at times, the words of the Bible would come to life in my head and it would search through me. At times it would encourage me, other times it would motivate me to change the way I see world and myself in it. I have learned how to meditate upon it, and it has become the greatest life changing experience that I practise to this day. I have realised that this personal discipline has been essential to my faith. It was through personal, inductive Bible study that I learned to really love God and his word.
Today, as a ministry team at Endeavour, we want to acknowledge that this personal experience of mine is not being experienced by a few, but it is an essential activity for all who profess the Christian faith, and for this reason, we actively work on encouraging our teens into deep life transforming study of the Bible. We do it in various ways, like devotions and Christian Living classes. We want our students to discover the truths of the Christian faith for themselves, and experience its challenges and life-transforming power.
