Specialist Classes

Visual Art, Physical Education, Science and Auslan with

Mrs Demunk, Ms Hunter and Mrs Griffith.

ART-

The excitement of the Winter Olympics has been our inspiration for the middle and senior classes over the past two weeks with a focus on pattern and line as a feature of our Art work and creating foreground and background. This piece used mixed media including textas, paint and scrunched paper/ collage. Make room on your fridge!

The junior school have been developing their cutting and pasting skills whilst learning about line and shape. These wonderful abstract pieces produced so early in the year have me very excited about what is to come!

Physical Education-

The biggest excitement has been the opening of the Ninja Warrior course. It has been wonderful to witness the grit and determination that many of the students have shown on the challenging obstacles.

All classes have been building on their skills in readiness for our Athletics Sports Day on April 8. Hurdles, relays and the vortex throw have been a main feature over the past two weeks.

Please remind your child to wear runners on their sports day and for the girls, no school dresses as they can be restrictive when doing athletics.

Keep moving everyone!

Auslan:

We have continued this week practice greetings and fingerspelling the letters of the alphabet. We have started to create a whole school display in the classroom that show some of our learning so far, senior students created emojis showing a chosen emotion which we have practiced in Auslan while junior students used their faces to demonstrate their chosen emotion. Pictures of some familiar staff members can also be found :)
