In early March the SACE Stage 1 Outdoor Education class travelled to Yorke Peninsula for a three day aquatics camp.
The students developed skills in kneeboarding and kayaking at the Port Vincent Aquatic Centre. From Port Vincent we travelled to Corny Point Caravan Park to set up our tents, have dinner and debrief our experience and stay the night. The next morning, we met our instructors at Berry Bay to develop our surfing skills. We were joined by a friendly pod of 20 dolphins who made us feel at ease in the water. After a full day in the water, our muscles were tired and we looked forward to a meal cooked on the trangia.
On the last day of camp we rose early, packed the trailer and headed back down to Berry Bay for a morning surf session.
It was a great experience, developing our aquatic skills, campcraft and supporting each other in the outdoors.
