Students are working one day per week for 7.5 hours and then attending school to do some subjects to complete SACE. This opportunity has been advertised in the Bulletin since late February.
Students are being offered options of where to work that are suitable for them. A role description of each position can be obtained and if interested in applying there is a link that you can get from the VET Leader. Hurry as the application time frame is about to end!
Student Eligibility:
Indi has been offered a position to do the Certificate III in Education Support. She will be attending Hallett Cove School one day per week for the next two years. Her goal is to work with children in schools and support them with their learning needs. Indi is also completing the Certificate II Community Services course this semester to give her experience, knowledge and an understanding of working with children. She applied through the online link and within a week was offered an interview followed by an offer. Her training will take her two years to complete. She will finish with a full Certificate III which can also be used for an ATAR to university if she would like to go on and do a teaching degree. We wish Indi all the best on her new and exciting journey.
April is very interested in the business industry and so made an appointment with the VET Leader to discuss the opportunity of entering a traineeship. April applied online and was offered an interview online with MEGT. She was offered a position to do a Certificate III in Business and was given a position with a centre near to home to attend work one day each week. April will begin her training in Term 2 and it will also take until the end of next year to complete her course. Like Indi, April will complete a full Certificate III and this can be used towards an ATAR for university, if she would like to gain a Business degree. We wish April all the very best on her wonderful and amazing endeavour.
We would like to congratulate both students on their achievements and wish them a great year with their study and work commitments.
