Principal's Notes

March 4th 2022

Dear Parents and Families,

This has been another action packed week for everyone at school. I am always impressed with our students and their efforts in every task. This week really showed how they not only care about their school but also their community.

I had the pleasure of watching last week's netball games up at HILAC. Our players skills are improving every week. Thankyou to our coaches Miss Thompson and Trish Hurley for their time and commitment to our netballers each week.

Clean Up Australia

On Thursday afternoon, we headed off with gloves and rubbish bags to help clean up the areas surrounding the school and town. Keeping our school tidy is important to our  students and staff as it promotes pride and increases caring about every task we do.

Thank you

Thank you to Karl and Samuel Price who delivered a load of sand for the sandpit in their tractor and pushed it up so the students can practice their long jump in readiness for the Athletics Carnival in Hamilton.  Thank you for being so prompt with this Karl.

Thank you to The Bunyip Hotel who held a meat raffle to raise funds for the school.  They raised $120.00.  We appreciate your continued support.

Thanks also to Paul Coates for installing a secondhand electric oven in the staffroom and doing a few extra jobs for us.  Much appreciated.

Picnic Sports

We will have lots of pictures and reports in next week's newsletter. Thank you to everyone who attended today and helped make our day special for our students.  A special mention and thanks must go to our Year 6 leaders for their all their help in organising teams and with events on the day. Well done Lexi, Talia, Fletcher, Eva and Max.  An honourable mention goes to Justin for stepping up into this role as well.   Congratulations to Glenelg, who in a close contest took out the win.

Junior School Council

Mrs Brabham and the JCS have been meeting regularly this term and are planning events and fundraising for the year. The students have been discussing ways and suggestions to help improve our school. The JSC will be hosting a Pyjama Day on Friday 11th March at school, the gold coin donations for wearing casual clothes are going towards buying Easter eggs for an upcoming raffle. The JSC are wanting to build their funds so that they can make either donations to charitable organisations or buy equipment for the school. On the Pyjama Day, please ensure your child wears appropriate footwear for playing and pyjamas that are SunSmart.
