Excellence Through Endeavour

Bentleigh District Tennis Competition
One of our Year 4 sports starts, Marlo from 4K recently represented our school at the Bentleigh District Tennis Competition. It was a tough competition indeed as Marlo competed against students who were a couple of years older than herself. Despite the age and strength difference, Marlo proved she has the grit and determination to succeed as she made it through to the semi finals.
Congratulations Marlo on a stellar performance and showing what excellence through endeavour is all about.
State Athletics Champion
Jesse of 5P is a student who has proven that despite the constant lockdowns, perseverance with training pays off. Over the past six months, Jesse has been in training to compete in the 200m and 400m races and last weekend competed in the State Athletics Championships held at Lakeside Stadium.
For each running event there were three heats with heat 3 being the fastest and Jesse was in heat 3 for all of his events (he also participated in discus and came second).
As a result of his outstanding performance in the finals, Jesse is now the U10 Victorian State champion for both 200m and 400m.
You can watch Jesse on the following You Tube link. You will see two live streams - one for Saturday and one for Sunday.

CONGRATULATIONS
On Sunday 13th March, Reuben C (6D) and Gideon C (3H) participated in an archery competition at Moorabbin Archery Club. The boys shot with over 100 other archers in the Moomba Short Range Target Competition. It was a hot, but perfect, day! Reuben and Gideon both shot personal best scores and came home with first and second trophies!
The club runs 'come and try' sessions for anyone interested in having a go at archery.
