It’s great to see our students in Year 10, 11 and 12 getting into the rhythm of their individual programs.
We have had lots of really positive progress chats with students which have prompted discussion around how we can support our students in the future.
Students in the Senior Hub have access to a Chill Out session with our School Nurse Sophie and Charlie dog every Friday during lunch. It is a great opportunity to escape from the stress of study. Student's always love a visit from Charlie Brown.
Last Tuesday at our first assembly for the year our College Captains Paige Tarling and Bree Storer and our Vice Captains Hendrick Eveleigh and Molly Westhorpe received their captain badges.
We also acknowledged the students that have received the most SWPBS Value Points so far this year. Congratulations!
Last year, we had 11 students who achieved a study score of over 40 (out of a possible 50) in VCE Unit 3 and 4 subjects. Seven of those students were in Year 11.
On Tuesday, we celebrated the achievements of the following students:
Year 10 personal fitness class completing a workout with Jez from R U fit gym. The first of four sessions students will participate in.
Year 11 Legal study students were lucky to be able to listen to His Honour Judge Tinney from the County Court about his experiences in criminal cases.
Year 10 Systems class making solar powered cars.
Mr Falla's Wood Design class are free to choose a design and make an item they will use. Some students have chosen to make rabbit cages which can be seen in the photos below.
The students made Cornish Pies with homemade pastry served with roast vegetables and masked potato. Yum Yum.
On the 7th on March VCE Business Management 1&2 went on a walk to Peter Dullard Ford to understand how the business runs. We learnt about the competitors to Dullard Ford, what is most important to them and why, and how they were affected by COVID-19. Dullard Ford focuses on treating their customers and employees with respect and loyalty to keep customers coming back, and to keep their great staff. The students learnt a lot and got very wet shoes from the experience. Chloe Jennison
Year 10 students have been busy making delicious pavlovas in their Food for You class.
Thanks to all the students who have helped to make this space look great.
Four of our Year 12 students are participating in the World’s Greatest Shave this year.
Our hub would greatly appreciate any donations of second hand uniform or text books that students are no longer using or have outgrown.
