Clontarf

Halfway through Term 1 already, time fly’s when you’re having fun!

What has happened recently:

  • Most of our VCAL boys have started well and are being placed on work experience or have started their traineeships for the year.
  • Our Year 7 and 8 students participated in their first headspace session last week. Two of the headspace workers came to school and delivered a great presentation to the boys.
  • Last Tuesday some of our boys participated in their first boot camp session of the year in the Wallace Street gym, Turk’s sharp boxing skills were on display.
  • Year 12 Leadership camp.  Three of our boys and Richard headed to Melbourne for the 3 days.
  • Good numbers are starting to build at our homework club on Thursdays, the Friday morning trainings and our life skill sessions on Monday afternoons.

Highlights from the past two weeks:

  • Joe’s cooking session with Mackenzie was awesome again.
  • No more masks!
  • Nearly all of our boys have an attendance of above 85% for the year. That’s bums in seats, which is brilliant from the boys.

Who are our hero’s

  • Mario Disarno has two weeks work experience at the main hotel starting this week, following his passion. Great to see.
  • Paul Harrison getting a job at K-Hub, well done mate.
  • Corey Jack and Durome Abbey in Year 7 have made great starts to their secondary school lives.
