Staff Spotlight

Let's hear it from Nathan Lee  -  Mathematics faculty

My name is Nathan Lee

and this is my fifth year of teaching at Cecil Hills High School

My schooling

I went to American International/Intercultural Schools in various countries including Korea, Denmark, Indonesia, Portugal and China to complete the International Baccalaureate program prior to commencing university here in Australia.

Some of my special moments at Cecil Hills High School

I never thought I would receive a Gucci Wallet from my Year 12 group in 2020, play hide and seek across the whole school and in my classroom (Room E8) with my Year 12 group in 2021 and with my current  Year 12 2022 group.

When I'm not working

I enjoy mentoring young teenagers with life choices and career paths as well as coaching and I play soccer at a competitive level. I also have a deep interest in doing research into philosophy as well as motor vehicles.

My favourite quote

"Self-discipline and perseverance is the bridge between goals and accomplishments.”

How I define success and advice to students

I believe success is a progressive term defined relatively to the person.

The world we live in, especially in this time-frame, does not provide a leveled playing ground when it comes to academic success as well as wealth. However, if you are honest about the time and effort you have invested within the restricted time you are given for whatever the task, and if the slightest of improvements/enhancements are evident, I believe you have achieved your success.

If given a chance, who I would like to be for a day

I would like to be Mr Peter Rawlinson, the Chief Executive and Technology Officer at Lucid Motors.
