National Young Leaders Day
On 14 March, our senior leadership team was given the opportunity to attend The Halogen Event for National Young Leaders Day, an annual event existing to inspire and influence a generation of young people to lead themselves as well as others.
The experience provided by this event gave our senior leadership team the opportunity to hear about the importance of young leadership in every environment. Influential Australian guest speakers including, Lachie Smart, the youngest man to fly around the world, singer-songwriter and children's book author Josh Pyke, Olympic gold medalist Bronte Campbell and cricket legend Chris Green shared their experiences of leadership and resilience throughout their lives, providing our very own seniors with the opportunity to grasp the importance of being a young leader and the impact it can have on not only their lives, but the people around them as well.
Given the chance to partake in effective yet engaging activities and even meet leaders from other schools, the senior leadership team of Cecil Hills High School were able to learn about what it takes to be a young leader, and the resilience and grit required to have an effective impact on our schooling environment.
We would like to thank Mr King for taking us to such an amazing event. The Halogen Event was successful in teaching our students how to burn brighter in a world of leaders.
