Meeting the needs of all our students
Cecil Hills High School doesn’t just believe in success, we are building success!
The COVID pandemic has had an unfortunate effect on our community and impacted face to face learning. We are fortunate that the government has provided funding through the COVID Intensive Learning Support Program to offer a range of support for our students.
We have extended CONNECT After the Bell which is our homework drop in centre. Students from Year 7-10, as well as senior students, are welcome to drop in to complete homework or get support with assessment tasks. We have our own wonderful teachers supporting this program. If you would like more information please contact Ms Kumar, Ms Tiary and Ms Khoshaba.
Students in Year 7 and Year 8 are supported in a withdrawal literacy and numeracy program in a small group setting. Our tutors Lara, Shanelle, Saleena and Diyana support students through a structured program designed by our Head Teacher Literacy - Mr Howard and our Numeracy Coordinator - Ms Palumbo. Sometimes, our Building Success tutors support our students in the classroom. Our Building Success tutors are all currently at university and studying to work in education in the near future.
Stage 6 (Year 11 and Year 12) students can opt into small group tuition with their specialist teachers. We also offer some school holiday workshops in some subject.
If you would like more information on any of these programs, please contact Stephanie Haskett, our Head Teacher - Secondary Studies.
