New John Paul II Library Update

Planning for our new library is now in progress. We have had two meetings with the architects to design this exciting new space. The library will provide areas for junior and senior students, including a class reading corner and separate seated area. Students will be able to immerse themselves in the world of books in cosy reading nooks or develop their creativity in a makerspace. There will be multiple display areas, new shelving and many new books.

Outdated and damaged books have been removed from the collection. Current new resources are being purchased for leisure reading and to meet the Australian Curriculum. The library management system has moved to Softlink Oliver, which is used by many school libraries across Australia. Our new library technician, Kristia, has catalogued most of the classroom readers and we are now working on cataloguing more of the library collection into Oliver. When this is finished students will be able to use Oliver online to search for books.

We look forward to our new library becoming the heart of the school.
