verbal, written and practical simulations.

What will I learn?

In this course students attain competencies towards a nationally recognised qualification which is designed to launch a student into the fitness industry. It provides a pathway to a Group Fitness Instructor, Sports Coach or Gym Floor Supervisor. Students complete a series of modules online which are subsequently supported with some practical experiences to consolidate their learning.

This Certificate is a prerequisite for Certificate IV in Fitness and Personal training.

What Skills does this course provide?

The Certificate III in Fitness provides a nationally recognised certificate of competency allowing successful students to be employed as a gym instructor or group exercise instructor. The combination of learning experiences contained in this course provides students with a sound knowledge of traditional fitness training methods alongside opportunities for their own research of innovative techniques. Students will learn recognised techniques for instructing clients while also furthering their repertoire of exercises to improve their own health.

What Pathway Options does this course provide?

The Certificate III in Fitness provides a valuable pathway to employment as a group exercise instructor or gym instructor. Furthermore, it is a prerequisite for undertaking further study in the vocational field to gain the Certificate IV in Fitness, a requirement for practising personal trainers. The Certificate III in Fitness also provides excellent foundational knowledge for students wishing to study health science, exercise physiology, physiotherapy or physical education at university.
