What will I learn?

This school-based 50 hour course gives students an introduction to the techniques of video production using digital technology. Students participate in all stages, from pre-production to shooting video and finally editing their production. Students use Canon and Sony digital video cameras and Premiere Pro.

The course enables students to develop an understanding of the operation and function of video and audio production and develop critical and aesthetic awareness in producing video. They have the opportunity to use this knowledge for creative development in these fields. Production on a short video of their choice and / or collaboration with level 2/3 students on their projects, is assessed for this unit. This provides opportunities for individual self- expression using various production techniques and for working as a member of a production team.Ā

Students with a keen interest in musical production and editing may like to enrol in Audio Design ā€“ For Special Events AUD205 as well, and use the music which they have created and edited in their video productions.Ā
