Well done to Keyshon Dalton, Nathan Sewart, Harry Boyd-Turner and Finneas Burnell (timekeeper). Blackfriars lost The Caleruega Cup.

The Intermediate team (Years 9 and 10) debated the topic “That social media is ruining our social lives”. Blackfriars were the negative team. Blackfriars lost the Father John Neill Cup.

The Senior team (Years 11 and 12) debated the topic “That breaking election promises should trigger a re-election”. Blackfriars were the negative. Thankyou to Mr Bob Becker, Ms Margaret Snelling and Miss Laura Whalan for all their work in helping the boys prepare for their debates. First XI Soccer vs BOSA SC

The annual Tony Moss Memorial Game between Blackfriars First XI Soccer team and Blackfriars Old Scholars Association Soccer Club (BOSA SC) was held on Wednesday 19 September at Charles Cane Reserve. In a close and competitive match, BOSA SC narrowly defeated Blackfriars 3 – 2. The game was 1 – 1 at half time with BOSA scoring just before the break. Blackfriars then went up with an exceptional free kick. Heaps of rain made pitch conditions tough but didn’t stop both teams playing the ball around with precision. Blackfriars were unable to hold the pressure and conceded two late goals. The goal scorers for Blackfriars were Fynn Wilson and Jai King-Byrne. Congratulations to Sebastian Tonkin who was awarded best on ground. Thank you to BOSA SC for hosting the event and providing food and drinks after the game. Thank you also to Bruno Giovanniello, Ralph Armiento and all involved for their organisation and overall success of the event.
