Capital Works update

It is with great excitement that we continue to communicate with the community per Capital Works.  We have nearly finalised Schematic Design and head into Design and Development stage in Term 2.   The exact date of commencement of works is TBC; around September.

The most  significant element of the Capital Works is a new building representing the heart of the school.  This building will provide a central focal point for our school and community.

Some of the highlights and features include:

  • New entrance to the school from Browns Road
  • Welcoming reception and office areas
  • Collaborative staff and community work spaces
  • Purpose built Art and STEM learning centre
  • Student wellbeing spaces (internal and external)
  • Courtyard and undercover areas
  • New student toilet block

The building is designed to be carbon neutral and include various environmental sustainable components.

Next week, there will be images and drawings posted in the main Administration area, as well as electronically shared via COMPASS and next iNewsletter publication.

Child Safe

Creating a safe environment - Cybersafety

81% of a child's life is spent OUTSIDE of school.  Therefore the greatest positive influence to keep your children safe are the adults in the home.

What could you do if you think your child is being cyberbullied?

Try to resist immediately taking away their device

Stay calm and open — don’t panic

Listen, think, pause

Act to protect your child if necessary

Empower your child

Collect evidence

Manage contact with others

Seek support from your child’s school

Encourage positive connections and coping strategies

Stay aware

What to do if your child is being cyberbullied Removing your child's phone or computer could be really unhelpful. Cutting off their online access does not teach them about online safety or help build resilience. It could alienate them from their peers, and it also removes an essential tool for them to communicate and connect with friends.
