A message from the P&F President

It’s hard to believe it is only two weeks until the end of term one. I hope you are looking forward to celebrating the end of term at our Outdoor Cinema Movie Night. From the response so far, it’s shaping up to be a wonderful community event for the Queen of Peace family. We would like to take this opportunity to give back to the school community for continually supporting our events. We also thank Sweeney’s Real Estate Agency Altona Meadows for sponsoring this event. It is a great opportunity to raise money for a donation on behalf of QoP to the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal. We hope to see as many families there as possible. I also hope everyone has received their hot cross bun order form for the last day of school. If not, forms can be collected from the office. Thank you to those who have already volunteered to help butter and sort the buns that morning. It would be great to have some more volunteers. In previous years, many volunteers has ensured all the sorting is complete before the start of the walk and parents are then free to walk and share this experience with their children. Last week a session on how to run a fundraising event was held. It was great to see some new faces come along to this session. Thank you to those people who attended. The aim of this session was to help reduce the barriers that may deter people from putting up their hand to help out, when wanting to do so but are unsure how to go about it.

Starting next term, Faye Ford has volunteered to run some 'crafternoon' sessions. The Craft, Cuppa & Chat sessions will provide an opportunity for parents and carers to chat while enjoying their craft. All are welcome to drop by, even if craft isn’t your thing and you’re keen for a catch up. These sessions will be on a Friday afternoon in the art room from 12:30pm - 3pm. The first session will be making Mother’s day Cards to be sold at the Mother’s day stall. Dates for term 2 and activities are listed below.

Lastly, we are happy to confirm the following dates for some events for the year. Further events and dates will be announced next term.
