French Club @ Mordialloc College
We are pleased to announce that we are running some lunchtime activities to motivate students learning French to feel more confident.
When: Every Tuesday @ lunchtime (1.15-1.45 pm)
Where: Portable 1 classroom
Who can attend: Any students from Yr 7-12 learning French
What students can do: reading, viewing short films, informal speaking, board games
Cultural Diversity Week 2018 @ Mordialloc College
We were pleased to offer several opportunities for our students last week to raise awareness about Harmony Day on Wednesday 21 March and celebrate Cultural Diversity within the school from Monday to Friday.
Our diversity makes Australia a great place to live. Harmony Day is a celebration of our cultural diversity – a day of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home.
Held every year on 21 March, the day aims to engage people to participate in their community, respect cultural and religious diversity and foster a sense of belonging for everyone.
Here are some of the highlights from each day.
Monday 19/3
Daily Quiz 1 winners were Ms Davey’s Year 10 English Class and ‘La Pétanque’ - Bocce Games
Tuesday 20/3
Daily Quiz 2 winners were Ms Mitchell's Year 10 Legal Class. “What does it mean to be Multicultural?” poster competition. Below is an example of the quality of posters we have received for the competition. The winner will be announced shortly.
Wednesday 21/3
Daily Quiz 3 winners were the wonderful General Office team. Raising awareness of Harmony Day during My Mentor Program, ‘La Pétanque’ - Bocce Games, dumplings and food from Chinese cuisine offered by the International Student team.
Thursday 22/3
Daily Quiz 4 winners were Ms Baker’s Year 7 Communication class . French board games/scrabble, bingo and poster competition.
Friday 23/3
Daily Quiz 5 winners were Ms Leppin’s Year 8 Communication class. Activity on the day - calligraphy.
