Congratulations Year 12s of 2014

As a new Year 12 class looks at their final year of Secondary school, it is good to report on the students that have just finished up. While a couple of students have gone straight from school into the world of work, many have chosen to continue with their education. Many of our students were successful in obtaining their first preference. We wish all of our 2014 Year 12 students the best on the next leg of their journey.

VCE Information Night

Letters have gone home regarding our upcoming VCE Information Night. This is for parents of all Year 12 students and any Year 11 students who are studying a Unit 3/4 subject.

When: Tuesday, 10 February at 7pm until 8pm

Where: BHCS VCE Centre

VCE Creative Showcase

The VCE Creative showcase presents selected works by 2014 Graduates of Art and Studio Art. 

Last year's Year 12 Students: Amber Holden, Kayleigh Becker, Kerryl Venten and Tashi Baiguerra have all had their work featured in this year's exhibition at Burrinja Gallery (351 Glenfern Rd, Upwey).  

We encourage you to visit the exhibition and support the excellent standard of work that our students have produced.

Help Wanted

Are you a gardener? Or do you know a grandparent, auntie/uncle or friend whom you know would like to garden with the children at school?

We're looking for lots of help in the veggie garden!

If you have 30mins before or after school, an hour during the week, or even a larger amount of time to offer, we would like to hear from you.

Bendigo Bank Student Banking

Student Banking is available through the School with Bendigo Community Bank. If you are interested in opening account for your child, simply drop into Reception and ask for some information! This is a great way to start your child saving early. Student banking slips simply need to be dropped into Reception on Tuesday morning, and will then be returned to your child by their homeroom teacher once they have been processsed. 

Commonwealth Student Banking

Student banking is also available for your child through Commonwealth Bank. Drop into Reception to pick up an information pack, and you can register your child online. Students must drop in their bank books to Reception on Tuesday morning for processing. 

Canteen 

The school Canteen operates on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays each week. They are currently using their Spring/Summer menu, a copy of which is attached. It can also be found under the Parent Resource Section of the School’s website.

Canteen Online Ordering

The School has introduced a new online ordering system for Canteen called FlexiSchools. The system will allow parents, students and staff to place orders from anywhere at anytime.

Payment can also be processed online via Visa Card, Mastercard or Bank Transfer. This means less paper bags, cash, envelopes, etc. at school.

Ordering online is simple. Head to www.flexischools.com.au and click "Register". Once you register your email address, you will be sent further instructions via email.

Please ensure that you read and are aware of all the Terms and Conditions when you register.

Year 6 Bomber Jackets

A reminder that forms for ordering Year 6 Bomber Jackets are due back on Friday, February 13. Please ensure that you return this form (with payment) by the due date.

Year 12 English Manual

During the holidays, families of Year 12 students would have received a letter regarding ordering a Year 12 English Manual. All Year 12 students who have paid for their Year 12 English Manuals can now collect these from Reception. Those who have not yet ordered and paid for this book should do so ASAP.

Cafe Play

If you have pre-school aged children who like to play, and you like fine food and delicious beverages, please come along to Café Play!

We will be meeting in the beautiful Red Courgette Café on the grounds of Belgrave Heights Christian School after school or kinder drop-off time on Thursday mornings. There will be toys for the kids and a chance for parents make friends, enjoy a chat and order some treats from the Red Courgette kitchen. 

When: 9:15am–11ish, 

Thursday Mornings during term time (Starting 19th FEB)

Where: Red Courgette Café

Who: Any bubs and pre-schoolers with their parents or carers

Alinta Uniform

Alinta has now resumed it's normal shop hours. These are as follows:

Tuesdays 8am -10am

Thursdays 2pm-4pm

First Saturday of each Month 9am-12pm

Alinta has currently run out of some stock including boys short sleeve shirts (size J10, S and M), boys formal shorts (size S and M) and senior back packs. This stock has been ordered and will hopefully arrive shortly. 

Condolences

Coral Bowen is a local kinder teacher at Belgrave South for the past twenty years. Our condolences are with her on the recent passing of her husband Phil.
