Foundation

In Mathematics last term, the Foundation students focused on learning about capacity. We ventured outside for Foundation A and B classes to illustrate their understanding of comparing objects based on how full, half-full or empty they were using chalk.

Year 1

In Mathematics, the Year One students have been introduced to multiplication. They have been creating equal groups with materials, naming the number of groups and the same number that is in each. The students have developed strategies to solve problems, including using skip-counting, doubling, double + one more group, and other partitioning strategies. This builds a base for efficient times tables strategies.

Year 2

As part on their Science focus this term 'Watch It Grow', the Year 2 students have been enjoying preparing the garden beds in preparation for planning vegetable and herbs. They researched which vegetables are right to plant in the wintertime and made a list of what they would like to plant.

Year 4

Friend or Foe? That is the question! Our Year 4 scientists are studying the role insects play in the pollination process so today we were outside observing the different types of flowers.

This is in preparation for next week’s lesson where we will be dissecting flowers to examine their internal structures and think about the mechanics of how the bees pollinate a flower.

Whole School: Book Week Parade

This year the Book Week theme is Read, Grow, Inspire. The Book Week Parade will take place on Thursday, 24th August, at 9:15 am.

We would like students to choose a character from a favourite book and then dress up as that character. On the day, we'd like them to bring the book along to share with classmates.

We discourage students from wearing their AFL/Sports kits as there will be an opportunity to celebrate their favourite footy team at a later date. Year 5 and Year 6 students are going to vote on a theme for their costumes in the coming week.

We thank you in advance for your support with costumes.
