Upcoming events
Father's Day Stall
- Bilima preschool group - Wednesday 30 August
- K-6 & Gurawara group - Thursday 31 August 2023
- Gifts range $1-$10, please note: students can purchase more than one item.
- We aim to cater for a diverse range of families and interests.
- There will be gifts for Dad, Pop, Grandad, Bonus Dads, and even for those who might just have Mum (and vise versa at Mother's day stall).
- It’s best if students could please bring a bag for their shopping, particularly when there are multiple items.
** Parent helpers are needed at the stall whether it be for a part day or full day. If you and/or family members are able to assist, please contact your child’s teacher through dojo or seesaw, the school office or email the P&C address to advise.
P&C Meeting
Wednesday 6 September 6:30pm in the school library.
Spring Festival
- Friday 15 September 12pm-4pm
- We are so excited to announce that our Spring Festival is coming up in Week 9! A whole school and community event that would not be possible without P&C funding. A note has been issued this week with further information.
- The P&C are needing volunteer parent/carer helpers for the sausage sizzle and snack stands. Please reach out if you are able to help us via dojo/seesaw to your student’s teacher, the school office or direct to our email address ofpspc@gmail.com.
- We are planning to launch a raffle at the Spring Festival which will be drawn on 6 December just in time for Christmas shopping.
- Major prizes include:
- $500 photography voucher donated by ‘Reflections of You’
- St George Dragons collectors frame 1200 x 900cm, worth $350 donated by Oak Flats Newsagency
- $200 Visa cards to spend how you choose! So very generous!
- Lots of prizes to be won, and a huge thank you and shout out to many local businesses and individuals who have donated prizes to make this happen!
- Raffle tickets will be available online via www.raffletix.com very soon!
P&C News:
- Welcoming Bec Cheetham as our new Secretary!
- Thank you Bec for joining our committee as Secretary, we are so appreciative of your support and time.
- We have a few office bearers moving on next year including myself, and I am hoping to show someone the ropes before I ‘pass the baton on’. Time is passing so quickly, please get in touch if you can help us out for next year so our committee can continue.
- Did you know that the canteen is run by our P&C? Without a committee we would not be able to provide such a fantastic service. Many schools don’t have a canteen at all, and others have very limited services, so we are very fortunate to be able to benefit the school in so many ways because of what we do.
- Volunteering is very rewarding, albeit time out of our week or month, we also have lots of fun along the way.
- No experience is necessary to be a part of our P&C as we all have strengths and skills that help in many ways. It’s a brilliant way to gain an insight into our school, be informed of upcoming events, and you may have a chance to have some great times with your children at school.
- Our Pie Drive deliveries were completed this week with much thanks to our parent and grandparent volunteers for making this happen, and importantly to our parents/carers for supporting this event.
- Although we had a big drop in orders since previous years, Queen ST Bakery mentioned that OFPS orders were still toward the top of their list for order numbers! Go Oak Flats!
- Our winners will be issued their gift vouchers at the next assembly. Congratulations and well done to our winners with the top 3 numbers of orders!
- 1st place - Jazmyn R. 3/4J
- 2nd place - Heath D. 1KS
- 3rd place - Kyra L. Gurawara
If you have any enquiries, please reach out by either calling the school office or emailing us at ofpspc@gmail.com.
