Book Week Celebrations

Celebrating Book Week – Tuesday 22 August

One of the most exciting events for FPS students is our annual Book Week Celebration. This year, we are hosting a costume parade and literacy activities on Tuesday 22 August.

Students (and staff!) are invited to come to school dressed as a favourite book character and/or bring along their favourite book. During the day, students will work in mixed-age groups to explore some of the shortlisted books. 

What is Book Week?

Book Week (19 – 25 August) is the celebration of books, reading, and Australian children’s authors and illustrators. Book Week coincides with the announcement of the Children’s Book Council of Australia Book of the Year winners. 

This year’s theme is ‘READ, GROW, INSPIRE’.
