An update from the Wellbeing team
We now have all our wellbeing intervention groups up and running for term 3.
These are small groups run in our Wellbeing space and all students will get a chance to participate in these groups throughout the year on a rotating basis. The overarching aim of these different groups is to develop our students social and emotional skills, in a small group setting. Parents of students participating in these groups this term have been notified.
Peaceful Kids
The 'Peaceful Kids' program is a weekly Mindfulness and Positive Psychology based program to lessen anxiety and stress and increase resilience in children. This program helps children to build their emotional resilience, so they are better equipped to deal with the day-to-day stresses that life brings them.
Social Skills
These groups are run weekly and based on the needs of our students and focus on friendships and resilience, and use role play to model real-life scenarios. Using our student’s feedback on their biggest struggles socially, we tailor each session to these needs.
3/4 girls “chat”
A fortnightly session with the 3/4 girls to further dive into friendship struggles, social encounters, building independence and confidence and problem solving. These sessions are also run based on the feedback the students provide us. The aim of these sessions is to encourage the students to speak freely and provide a safe space for open discussions.
