Term 3 - Ros Hill

IN THE GARDEN

The focus over the past few weeks has been on the identification of WEEDS.

The students have used the attached resource to help find weeds and keep needed plants.

IN THE KITCHEN

Here are some recipes from last term

Sweet potato Croquettes link_63d9a1827bb49_sweet_potato_croquettes.pdf (kitchengardenfoundation.org.au)

Pancakes – these quantities are enough for a couple of children 1 cup flour, salt, egg, 1 ¼ cups milk

During this term we are having fun with pasta using the following recipe : Basic Pasta Dough https://sharedtable.kitchengardenfoundation.org.au/uploads/resource-library/resource-item/links/2022/10/03/link_633a606e2c091_syllabus_book1_basic_pasta_dough.pdf

For our first tasting the students added a Burnt Butter Sage Sauce – melt butter in a pan. Cook until turning brown, then add some torn up sage leaves. Cook until the leaves are crisp then pour over the pasta.   You don’t have a pasta machine? That’s okay  – knead your dough until soft and flexible. Use a rolling pin to roll and fold several times, then roll thin and use a knife to cut into strips.  For our second tasting the students are choosing one of these sauces from Recipetin Eats: ‘Quick and Easy Pasta Recipes’  that they think would like best : Fresh Tomato and Basil Sauce or Olive Oil and Garlic.
