JUNIOR HOOPTIME - SUPER DAY FOR ALL!
Last Thursday was our Year 3&4 HoopTimer’s turn to play in the much-anticipated Basketball Victoria HOOPTIME tournament at MSAC. St. Finbar’s entered four teams across the All Stars and Future Stars divisions. AND; what a day of games it was! Right from Game 1, all teams experienced some nail-biting finishes and showed some wonderful team-work.
Our FS Foxes won 3 round games and only lost their one game by 4 points. Coach Kirrie and Carla had a fabulous day with the team, with glowing reports coming back about their impressive attitude and encouragement towards each other over the day. Well done team!
The FS Flames also had a brilliant day, coming away winning all of their pool games, winning their semi, and then finishing the day off with a WIN in the grand final of their Future Stars section!
Congratulations goes to all eight team members and to Coaches Nicole & Kate for their sterling efforts with this team over their day. This team will now head onto Regionals later in the year!
We knew our All Star Boys and Girls teams were going to be up for a huge day of competition all day; which was definitely how it turned out!
Our All Star Boys played really well as a team, with some wonderful quick-play and shooting accuracy witnessed. Over the day they won 1 out of 3, with each game ending extremely close!
Our All Star Girls also played a brilliant day of pool games; making it through to the semi-finals undefeated. St Joan of Arc proved too strong for us in this game, to end the girls great run.
THANK YOU’S…. The AMAZING support from so many of our parents on this day certainly helped ensure our teams were well-supported. We’d like to pass on a HUGE THANK YOU to ALL of the Junior HoopTime parents that gave up their day to help coach, manage and score for their child’s team.
Thank you’s go to: Bec S, Kirrie W, Carla O, Kate B, Nicole S, Gerrit H, John G and Gerard A. We are very grateful for this amazing community of families that we have here at St. Finbar’s. Special thanks also goes to our attending staff; Mr Mills, Mrs Pickering and Sue Humble, who also supported the students over the day at MSAC.

Once final team sorting is completed next week, all team member families will be receiving an Operoo permission and information email very soon. Any parents willing to volunteer an hour or two to help run the triple jump event for us, please email Tania with your availability or tick the helper section within the Operoo email. Thank you.

We still have a number of borrowed Winter Sport jerseys / soccer jerseys &/or HoopTime singlets to be returned. If we can please ask all Year 3-6 families to have a good search at home & ensure their child has handed it back to their class teachers by tomorrow please. Thank you!
