Primary Netball All Schools Cup & Primary Heferen Shield Athletics Carnival

Primary Netball All Schools Cup

On Tuesday 1 August, students from Years 3 - 6 participated in the NSW Netball All Schools Cup at Ron Harborne Oval. Our St Philomena's netball teams had a fun filled day showcasing their sportsmanship and netball talent. They played teams from Moree East, Moree Public, Mungindi and Pally.

Our Year 5/6 netball teams were competing for a place in the NSW Netball Regional Finals against some tough competition. Our Phillies Blue team were unstoppable on the day finishing undefeated, earning them a spot in the Regional Finals. Our Phillies Red and Phillies Gold teams played some exceptional netball, especially with some students playing for the first time! A huge thank you goes to Isabel Schweitzer and Zalia Hobday for being our fantastic umpires on the day.

Our Year 3/4 netball teams had a great day too, playing a modified NetSetGo version of netball. They were able to showcase their teamwork, sportsmanship and netball skills! Thank you for Meg Cooper, Aisha Moore and Sophie Schweitzer for umpiring and managing the teams on the day.

Phillies Blue will progress into the NSW Netball Regional Finals to be held in Tamworth on Wednesday 20 September. Go Phillies! More information to come.

Thank you to Mrs Schweitzer, Miss Arthur and Miss Russ for managing all of our netballers on the day!

Primary Heferen Shield Athletics Carnival

On Monday 31 July, Mrs Schweitzer and our St Philomena's Athletics Team travelled to North Star to compete at the Moree Zone Heferen Shield Athletics Carnival.

It was a fantastic day with students showing off their talents in the track and field events. There were some amazing results with lots of students achieving personal bests in their events.
