Book Week 2023
Book Week Parade (K-10)
What: Students are encouraged to dress up as a book character. There are many websites with ideas for easy book week costumes. Each grade will have two winners.
Students’ costumes will be judged on the following criteria:
- Is the costume accompanied with the book (or a photocopy of the book cover)?
- Is the costume from a book?
- Creativity – Was the costume made creatively, colourfully, and does it show personality?
- Originality – Does the costume stand out from the rest?
- Effort – Did the costume take time and effort?
- Authenticity – How accurate and thorough is the costume?
Why: To immerse students in books and book characters and to celebrate the conclusion of Book Week.

Book Fair (K-10)
What: Our Scholastic Book Fair brings books, available for purchase right into our school. It’s a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level.
Why: Reading for pleasure unlocks the power of information and imagination. It also helps children discover who they are.
How: The Book Fair will be held in the old Primary Work Room. It will be signposted. Each year we are sent between 25-35 boxes of books for every kind of reader. They range in price from $4 - $25. Prior to the Book Fair officially opening students will have the opportunity to preview all the books for sale. They will receive a ‘Wish List’ form on which they can write any books they ‘wish’ they could purchase.
If you would like to purchase your child’s suggestions you can either follow the instructions on the Wish List form to pay online, or visit the Book Fair. EFTPOS facilities will be available.

Bags Needed!
If you have any bags at home you don't need (plastic, paper, material) the Library could really use them! We use them for students who forget to bring their library bag, as well as for Scholastic Book Club, to ensure the books stay safe.
