From the School Council...

Community Engagement Sub-Committee

As has been shared in previous communications, the HPS School Council is supported by a number of sub-committees working within the council framework.  Involvement in these committees is not limited to those who have made a commitment to School Council membership.  Indeed they are more effective and impactful through contributions from the broader school community.

Presently, we are finding the the connection and engagement from school community members outside of council to be minimal.  This is a situation that the school is very keen to address. As a starting point we would like to focus on the appropriately titled Community Engagement Sub-Committee.  As the name suggests, this group focuses on developing opportunities for the community to come together, to connect and to contribute. Although there is a fundraising element of the work that is done, this is not the primary focus of this group. 

To support increased involvement in this committee, the meeting will be held at school, with the time and additional details shared through Compass well ahead of time.

As a school council, we welcome our HPS community members to be involved in any Sub Committee meeting to support our school.
