Principal's Report

“The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled” Plutarch

We are part of the University of Melbourne Network of Schools to develop our collective efficacy .  We are working with academics and network schools to positively impact students at our school.  Our teachers work together in professional learning teams to curate the curriculum that meets the needs of our students.  There are a range of motivators that ensure efficacy:

  • Success through meaningful experience
    • Our teaching and learning vision includes real world connections that give learning purpose
  • Seeing others succeed, observations of others and modelling
    • Our student voice, leadership and agency that celebrates the successes of our students
  • Feedback and encouragement
    • Our continuous assessment and ongoing feedback through teams and OneNote provides students with an understanding of growth
  • Emotional connection to positive learning experiences
    • Our positive connections within learning teams and GOAL groups between students and teachers
    • Learning that breeds curiosity

It is a terrific opportunity to develop the rigour and challenge of our curriculum for our students.

School Council Elections

Just a reminder that parent ballots for school council need to be brought to school by Wednesday March 6th at 4pm.  We will announce the new council on March 8th.

Uniform Reminder

Our students on the whole are wearing their uniform beautifully and we regularly receive comments from the community on how great they look. A reminder that all students are required to wear their blazer to and from school each day. When there are high forecast temperatures throughout the entire day, we will notify all families as we did last week, if students are not required to wear their blazer on a particular day due to excessive heat conditions.
