Middle Unit
Year 2 Water Safety Session
The Year 2 students enjoyed an informative session on Monday about Water Safety. The students are well prepared for their swimming session at the Kyneton Aquatic Centre. Unfortunately, this has been postponed. They learned about staying safe around the water including the roles of lifesavers, lifeguards, swimming between the flags, adult supervision & rescue techniques. After the session, the children created water safety posters and recounts.

Today we went to the hall to learn about water safety. The first thing the lady told us was when she blows the whistle three times it means that we need to get out of the pool immediately. One whistle means it is time to get into the pool. She talked about if you can’t swim or if you can swim, you always need adult supervision and a life jacket in different types of water. By Moser
We went and saw two ladies and they talked about water safety. We talked about the things that are in the ocean. There are blue-ringed octopus and other things. We also learned that one whistle means get back into the pool and three whistles mean get out of the pool because there is an emergency. By Bonnie
On Monday, the Year 2 's went to the hall to have a talk about water safety because we were going to the Kyneton pool this Thursday and next Thursday. Half of the Year 2's were going this week and the other half were going next week. We are all excited. Something very important is to make sure adults are always watching you around water. BY Chloe
