Senior Unit

Wellbeing

The students in the Senior Unit have been completing wellbeing tasks daily. Activities such as Bucket Monday, Ten-times Tuesday, Wake up Wednesday and Thoughtful Thursday. For example, yesterday for Wake up Wednesday the students spent the first 4 minutes of the day doing “Jazzercise” to an 80’s Aerobics video.

  • “It was so much fun and it was a good way to get the class to move!” - Sophie SU3
  • “It was really good and got me pumped up!” - Tom SU3

Podcasting

The Senior Unit have been investigating topics this term. They are now putting their learning into practice and are taking questions that students in Year 3 & 4 are really curious about and investigating them. The end result will be a podcast episode in which the students answer the question in detail in a variety of ways.

Athletics

Everyone had a blast at Athletics this year. Everyone was amazing at every sport they did! The relay was tough but the effort that everyone put into it was incredible. Everyone was very supportive of each other and showed great sportsmanship.

Congratulations to Jamie, Inga and Harry for getting first place in their events. They will be heading off to regionals soon.

New Arrivals

In SU2 we have two new classmates - two fish named Fawkes and Nebula. We all were able to suggest names for them and we ended up having four favourites. We had another class vote, and that’s how we ended up with their names. Fawkes is named after the phoenix in Harry Potter and is orange. Nebula is named after Thanos’ daughter in Avengers: End Game and is black with googly eyes.

Senior Unit Travel Expo

The Senior Unit Travel Expo is coming up on Friday the 13th of September. We extend an invitation to our community to come and explore countries created by our wonderful Senior Unit students. They have challenged themselves to create a country from scratch. Will we see peaceful or powerhouse nations? Find out by coming to the Travel Expo.

Our community session commences at 2pm in the school hall and will run for one hour. We are very excited to be sharing our students’ hard work and are certain that you will be impressed. See you there?
