Senior Unit

Buddy Easter Bonnet Making
In the morning the Year 6's made Easter bonnets with their buddies. With their creative skills they made fantastic looking hats. They used materials like: pom poms, feathers, different coloured paper and glitter. They all had lots of fun and everyone enjoyed it.
The Year 5 students also made their own Easter bonnets. They look terrific!!
Cross Country
On April 2nd some students from Year 3-6 went to Hanging Rock for the District Cross Country. They all did really well and we have a little report on the races.
9's
One of the last races of the day was the 9 boys. They had a slightly shorter course of 2km. They ran around the rock but didn’t cross the oval. They finished at the end of the course around the rock. The girls ran the same course and they were really fast. Annie came 8th but the 9's are not able to go to the next round.
11’s
At 11:00 am the 11 year old boys began their race around Hanging Rock. The boys were quick and finished well before the half hour mark. They were running the 3 km course all around the rock. The course went up hill, around bends and across the oval to the end sprint. Ned came 2nd and Sampson came 4th. All of the boys did incredibly well and are very happy that they got to Hanging Rock!
Next was the girls. They had the same track as the boys. There was lots of pressure since the boys were so successful! The girls were very fast and finished with a celebration. Rose and Cat had made it to the next round! The girls gave it their best effort and had a nice time kicking the footy after.
12/13's
At 11:20 am the 12/13 boys started their race. The gun sounded and they were off. The first obstacle was a hill, around the bend and then past the crowd. They were all out of sight and running like nothing was stopping them. The race was very close in the end and they all did great. After the 3 km mark they were racing up the hill to finish. None of the boys made it through but they were up against really fast runners. They did their best and that’s all that matters. The race went for 20 minutes but they had 30 minutes to finish before the next 12/13 girls.
The girls lined up ready for the gun. They had their last glance at the crowd and then, “BANG” said the gun, and off we all went. We had the same track as the boys. Without stopping we made it to the end where we sprinted up the last hill of the race. Finally it was over. After the rest of the races had finished we packed up our things and got ready for the bus. We made sure we had taken everything and hadn’t left anything behind. Exhaustedly we lined up and were on the bus in no time. It was really fun and we all had a great time. We got back to school way before the bell so we had a few games of Dodgeball. We all did spectacular.
