News..
This week in the garden MU4 and MU5 got to pick and nibble kale leaves and set up an experiment with kale seed. They hypothesized that alpaca poo will help kale seed to germinate, so stay tuned for the results…
Who can believe that it is already the end of Term 1 ?! Thanks to everyone who has helped in the Woodend Community Children’s Garden this term:
- Mel and Cath (our dedicated volunteer parents),
- Cat, Alex and Alica (the Senior Unit Environment Leaders),
- the kids who give up their lunch times each Monday for Garden Club, and
- the classes who have visited the garden to learn about minibeasts, plants and investigate nature.
With the new raised garden beds now full of soil, Autumn seeds planted and gravel on it’s way for the paths, there’s going to be more exciting changes in the garden during term 2.
HELP REQUIRED:
IF ANYONE HAS A SMALL LOADER (Bobcat, front end loader, etc) that they’re able to bring to School and move some gravel, your help would be extremely appreciated. Our Junior Landcare Grant only covers supplies, not labour. This job could be done whenever is convenient to you: Mon-Fri or a weekend. Please contact Nicole 0418 233 366.
