Respectful Relationships

On Tuesday evening we held an information evening for parents in relation to the Respectful Relationships curriculum that has been trialled in 2017 and delivered this year. It was fantastic to see so many parents taking an active role in their child’s education. The night was highly informative and it was great to be able to get a new perspective on curriculum materials and an insight into how we can best help parents. Some of the parent requests related to further materials to assist with conversations taking place in the home and also tasks that could be completed. We appreciated the feedback and will be basing further presentation on parent comments and questions. If you have additional ideas that you feel need to be addressed please let us know at the College.

Belfast Celebration Day

It was wonderful to see the sea of Australia day themed costumes in honour of the Belfast celebration day. Some great work by student leaders on the BBQ and in relation to the baked goods sale (though I think much of the work here was done by parents in the kitchen at home). All efforts and funds raised towards Oxfam are truly appreciated.

Uniform

We offer a diverse range of uniform that allows for individual preferences, comfort and functionality. As long as students are wearing Warrnambool College clothing, they are meeting our very flexible policy. However, there are several items of clothing that are inappropriate including skins, hoodies and black shorts or pants. Any student that is out of uniform will receive a demerit. Five demerits will result in a lunchtime rubbish detention. Could all families please support the school by ensuring all students wear correct uniform.

Attendance

Please approve any unexplained absences via compass. Parents can also monitor attendance for all classes. It is essential that students are in classes at all times. There is a strong correlation between high attendance and successful student outcomes.
