Year 5/6 News

We are well into our Grade 5-6 Small Business Venture with all students selecting a business type and also choosing whether to be a sole trader or forming a partnership. We have been learning about the difference between products and services as well as how to create a market survey.

In Maths we have been looking at how to multiply and divide fractions as well as placing fractions on number lines. We have just finished our unit on fractions and will correct our tests next week. Seven students recently competed in the Australian Maths Competition.

In Literacy we have completed a Cold Write using the Report style of writing and have also been learning about abstract nouns and adverbs.

Our Play Is The Way focus is “Being a Strong Friend.” We have had many discussions and scenarios about being a bystander and speaking out in a respectful manner when other people are making poor decisions.
