Classroom News Year P -2

Fabulous Beginning to 2018

Prep/One

The children have had a great start to the school year. They have all settled in really quickly and are loving the opportunity to make new friends and experience new things. Swimming has been lots of fun and I am very proud of how independent the children have been at getting themselves dressed and undressed before and after swimming.

The Preps have begun learning the names of the letters of the alphabet and some different sounds that they make. Writing their names in correct formation has also been a focus. The Ones have written recounts about their holidays. The children have all been working on our fine motor skills with lots of activities to help develop their finger muscles.

We have started counting the days of school in Maths and we are planning to have a celebration on the 100th day of school.

The children have brainstormed ways to make our school a happy and safe place. They have brainstormed some school rules and have voted on the most important ones for our class and made a book about them.

We have been doing a bit of dancing too! Ask your child about the ‘Milkshake’ song and ‘Pop See Ko’.

Year One / Two

Wow! What a great start to the year we've had. We have enjoyed developing our swimming skills everyday and the kids have impressed the teachers with how they organise themselves and belongings for swimming. During class times we have been busy working on getting to know each other whilst creating our when we grow up display, all about me bunting and birthday cupcakes. We are looking forward to another week of swimming next week.
