Basketball Victoria Bulla Hoop Time

Last term, Ivanhoe Primary School participated in the Basketball Victoria Bulla Hoop time. Eight boys and seven girls were selected to represent the school. The eight boys were, Tom K, Riley P, Hugo W, Oliver D, Jason H, Will M, David C, Felix H. The girls were Miah S, Isobella H, Charlotte S, Amy Z, Lucy G, Anjali P and Maddie W. We drove up to Coburg Stadium, thanks to Cheree Porter, Leanne Anstey and Louise Lovell for transport. We competed against Alphington Primary, Alphington Grammar, St Johns, Mary Immaculate, St Bernadette’s, St Anthony’s and Buckley House.

First the girls played Alphington Primary School and it was a tie. Then the boys played Alphington Primary, they were a strong team and we lost. The second game for the girls they played St Anthony’s and won. The boys played St Anthony’s and had a good win also. The girls played St Johns and it was a tough match and lost. Then the boys beat St Johns in a good game. The girls played Alphington Grammar and lost. Then the boys played a match for fun against Alphington Primary.

Sadly, the girls did not make finals. But the boys made finals and had to play the best team in the tournament, St Bernadette’s. We lost and we were proud of our effort. Then St Bernadette’s went on to win the boys final against Buckley House. For the girls final Buckley House won against St Johns.

It was a fun day meeting lots of good sports and making new friends. Thanks to Mrs  Harvey and parents for coming along and taking us to the stadium. Also thanks to Mr. Kent for allowing I.P.S to compete in this basketball tournament.
