SpaceCraft Studios Excursion

Monday, 17th October, to Thursday, 20th October, the year 10s went on a 4 day workshop to SpaceCraft studios in Footscray, where they participated in screen printing and textiles workshops. They spent the 4 days printing on to recycled clothing items and styling them in a professional photo shoot. Each of the teachers in the Vis Arts department were able to attend for a day to watch and the students were AMAZING.

Besides the fact that SpaceCraft and everyone involved were awesome, it was so refreshing to see the students working collaboratively and creatively in a studio space. They were so respectful, organised and hardworking throughout the 4 days and as a staff we could not be prouder of how they conducted themselves.

Seeing them work positively with industry professionals such as artists, stylists, models and photographers really lit our eyes up, and the students made some really positive bonds with everyone at SpaceCraft – WE ARE SO PROUD. Take a sneak peek at the attached if you get the chance as there are some images in there too.

The textiles and photography work students did during this workshop will also be up at the exhibition opening night on December 1st. They managed to make a huuuuuuuge collaborative printed canvas so you are welcome to come check that out in the gallery today as well!

Thanks,

Cara and the Visual Arts poss.
