We are thinking of those who have been impacted by the recent flooding event.
It has been pleasing to see the community support each other and we know the St Brendan’s School community will do the same for each other.
Make sure you purchase your tickets for the Parents Social Night Barefoot Bowls through CDF Pay by 3.00pm on Friday 28 October. It will be a great night!

In Australia World Teachers Day is celebrated on the last Friday in October, this year being Friday 28 October 2022.
Our teachers have been so resilient and adaptable over the last few years and have still been able to provide wonderful support to our students to inspire them and keep them engaged in their learning.
Planning is also underway for 2023 - let us know if you have any ideas of what you would like to see at the school.
The recent P&F Meeting was cancelled last week due to the flooding event.
A new date is being confirmed and will be sent out to families once set. Please come along to have your say and show your support of the P&F.

Review of Events and Fundraising Information
Mini Golf Family Fun Day - Sunday 23 October 2022
Unfortunately the Mini Golf Family Fun Day which was due to be held on Sunday 23 October 2022 was cancelled.
This was the best decision as our community was providing support to affected family and friends, the mini golf course at Emerald Bank was also impacted.
As we are getting towards the end of the year it wasn't practical to find a new date for this event. We will look to hold it in 2023.
Refunds are being arranged for those who purchased tickets to this event. These will be processed in the next week with the school office working with CDF Pay on this
School Sock Fundraiser
Orders from the School Sock Fundraiser were handed out on the first day of Term 4. Thank you to those who supported this fundraiser.
Thank you also to The School Uniform Shop for working with the P&F on this fundraiser. The owners of the Shop are a family in our school community, we appreciate their support. Please support this business when you can.

World Teachers Day - Friday 28 October 2022
At St Brendan’s we are lucky to have wonderful teachers supporting our children in their learning and development.
Happy ‘World Teachers Day’ to all of our terrific teachers!

The students were encouraged to complete thank you cards for their teacher. These have been given to the teachers to show how valued they are by their students.
The school provides the teachers with a special morning tea on this day to celebrate.

Parents Social Night - Friday, 4th November 2022
The Parents and Friends invites parents and guardians to the final Parents Social Night for 2022. This time we have organised barefoot bowls!
Date: Friday 4 November 2022
Time: 6.30pm-9.30pm
Location: Shepp Golf Bowls Club, 15 Golf Drive Shepparton
Cost: $33.00 per adult
Tickets available via CDF Pay, to be purchased by 3.00pm on Friday 28 October 2022
Ticket includes barefoot bowls (use of equipment), BBQ dinner of chicken steaks, hamburgers and sausages plus salads.
Other special dietary requirements can be catered for on request.
Drinks at bar prices.
Come along for a fun night out and give lawn bowls a try! No experience required, all equipment provided and experts will be on hand to give advice if needed.
Tickets to be purchased via CDF Pay by 3.00pm on Friday 28 October 2022.

End of Year Celebration
Thursday, 17th November 2022
Save the date for our End of Year Celebration on Thursday 17 November 2022 from 5.00pm-7.00pm. Families are invited to bring their own dinner, picnic blankets and chairs for a relaxed celebration on the school oval to celebrate a great year of learning at St Brendan’s.
Sports equipment and sandpit toys will be available for children to use.
This has been planned in November to avoid the busy times in December which can be busy for families with work and family commitments and celebrations.
Further details will be given closer to the date.

Next P&F Meeting
The date of our next P&F Meeting is still to be confirmed, as we cacncelled the scheduled meeting on Tuesday 18 October 2022 due to the flooding event. The meeting will be in the evening as these times have been more suitable for most with work commitments during the day.
Please come along to show your support for the P&F. The P&F can only operate with input from the school community.
We will review events/fundraisers from the year so far and discuss plans for 2023 so we can have most events planned out.
Expressions of interest will be called for Committee Members. The role of President will also be vacant at the end of 2022 – please contact us to have a chat if you are interested in this role.
Being a part of the Committee isn’t a large time commitment and there are no set requirements of a member.

If you have a few hours to spare during the year and would like to get involved in the school community please register your interest to be involved as a parent helper through the P&F.

Volunteers must hold a current Working With Children’s Check. These details must be supplied to the school office to also be held confidentially.
WWCC’s are free for volunteers, you can apply through the Working With Children Check Victoria website.
Business interest
Do you own/run a business, or know of a business, that may be interested in being involved in supporting the school community through fundraisers, sponsorship, in-kind support or at events?
