Bonjour tout le monde,

What a fantastic French cultural morning we had!

The students participated in four rotations:

1. A butter making competition:

To win the competition, each group had to shake, shake, shake (and shake again!) a jar of cream and be the fastest to turn it into butter. We tasted it afterwards, with little French toasts, French Comté cheese and a choice of French jams (fig or cherry). All the butters were smooth and creamy... they were delicious!

If you want to make butter at home, here are the instructions:

2. Playing Croquet or Pétanque:

While the Preps and some Year 1 students played the traditional Pétanque game, all other students played Croquet this year, which was a lot of fun, especially with the beautiful weather we had that day!

3. Learning about the life of Claude Monet:

After watching the following video, the students had a class discussion about Claude Monet. Together, they answered questions about his life and will now be able to identify his most famous paintings.

4. Making a water lily origami or drawing a famous painting from Claude Monet :

Finally, the students participated in one of the two following craft activities:

They either made an origami of a water lily or reproduced one of his most famous paintings, 'The water lily pond' (1899).

Voici (here is) la chanson de cette semaine (this week's song): 'Gaffe aux autres' (careful about others) from Ben Mazue:

Take good care of yourselves and have a lovely weekend.

A bientôt,
