An enormous congratulationsgoes to the following students who achieved impressive debating awards recently.

ย
Also two Huntingtower teams competed in the State Grand Final of the Junior British Parliamentary Debating Competition: ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ง, ๐๐ถ๐น๐ ๐, ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฎ๐ ๐ and ๐๐น๐น๐ฒ ๐, ๐๐น๐ฒ๐ ๐ถ๐ ๐, ๐๐ฒ๐ต๐ฎ๐ป ๐ . Our teams finished first and second (out of four competing teams).
Well done to ๐๐ถ๐น๐, ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฒ and ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฎ๐ who were crowned champions!
House Debatingย
This was the first time in three years that we had run a face-to-face competition, with the tournament taking place over the course of the final week of term:ย Senior School debates at Monday Lunchtime, Middle School debates at Tuesday Lunchtime, Senior School British Parliamentary Debating and public speaking Wednesday afternoon, and Middle School British Parliamentary debating and public speaking on Thursday afternoon.
ย
Students participated in a range of events, including standard 3v3 debates (with one event for experienced debaters and one for students who have not debated before), British Parliamentary debating (with four houses competing at once, and the ability to interject into each otherโs speeches), impromptu speaking (where students have five minutes to construct a speech in response to a prompt), persuasive speaking (where they advocate on an issue), and after dinner speaking (where they aim to entertain). ย
ย
Congratulations to the overall winners Mather!
