Performing Arts Term 4

Prep

This term in Performing Arts, Preps are working on extending their music theory knowledge, specifically rhythm. They will be reviewing the notes they already know, as well as learn two more notes, then using that knowledge to read, write and play 4-beat rhythms on a variety of percussion instruments. Prep students will also be extending their knowledge on how to play the ukulele, as well as start learning the basics of playing the piano.

In addition to this, Prep students will be doing a 4-week program STEAM dance program with the Australian Ballet. 

Students will also be working hard to learn and song and dance for the end of year Festive Concert.

Grade 1/2

In Grade 1/2 Performing Arts, students will be reviewing and practicing the music theory they already know through collaborative activities. They will also be applying that knowledge in learning the basics of playing the ukulele and piano, then individually choosing what they want to keep working on.

In addition to this, Grade 1 students will be doing a 4-week program STEAM dance program with the Australian Ballet. 

Students will also be working hard to learn and song and dance for the end of year Festive Concert.

Grade 3/4

This term in Grade 3/4 Performing Arts, students will be reviewing and practicing the music theory they already know through independent and collaborative activities. They will also be applying that knowledge in learning the basics of playing the ukulele and piano, then individually choosing which area they wish to continue to skill build in.

Students will also be working hard to learn and song and dance for the end of year Festive Concert.

Grade 5/6

In Grade 5/6 Performing Arts, students will be reviewing and practicing the music theory they already know through collaborative activities and games. This will be in preparation for building up to where students will be able work independently or collaboratively to skill build in areas of their own choice. 

Students will also be working hard to learn and song and dance for the end of year Festive Concert.
