Playgroup Update

Activities during playgroup this term have focussed on the play-based model, where children learn valuable skills and knowledge through play. Each week, various play corners are arranged, including writing table, sensory play (play dough), visual arts (painting and collage), dramatic play corner and reading corner. Playgroup consists of a group time where fruit is shared, stories are read and children participate in songs and dance. Each week children have an opportunity to follow a routine, balanced with an abundance of self-directed learning. It is wonderful to see relationships building amongst the children and adults, and most of all, seeing the children happy - while learning at the same time! Playgroup operates Monday mornings between 9am and 11am at the Lockleys Preschool site.
