Year 5 Visit – Nature Collage

Year 5 Students from Donburn Primary School visited us at EDSC on Tuesday 13th September.

They were keen to undertake a Nature Collage task during their time here.

It was great to see such enthusiasm and wide-eyed wonder as they selected various materials from leaves, flower petals, fern fronds and gum nuts to work with.

Students used these materials to create a collage using an outline of a bird, butterfly, tree, lady bug or fish.

They focused on the colour, shape and texture of their chosen materials and glued these down piece by piece.

10 Ceramics – Coil Products

During Semester 2, students studying Year 10 Ceramics researched and designed a product that was either functional or decorative. 

Students explored the forming technique of Coil Building along with a variety of surface decoration techniques.

Inlay, sgraffito, relief work, carving, rendering and underglaze techniques have been tested and applied.

Students thoroughly enjoyed making these products and learning some new techniques!
